Hagen's of Blaine - strong reco
« on: December 10, 2007, 09:24:31 PM »
When purchasing goods from the USA, the postage costs are significantly reduced if shipped to a domestic US address  instead of a foreign Canadian address. So many Canadians can benefit from having a US mailing address for their cross-border purchases.

As such I strongly recommend dealing with Hagen's of Blaine. Hagen's provides Canadian's with a US mailing address so items can be shipped to Blaine instead of Canada, and the postage savings will be significant. I have been dealing with the lovely ladies at Hagen's for over a decade, and can't say enough of their great and reasonably priced service.

To use their service, you first need to call and register yourself with Hagens. Their tel is 1-360-332-5246. When you register with them they will provide you with explicit instructions on how to have your US purchases shipped to you at their Blaine, WA address. When your item arrives, the fine ladies at Hagen's will call to advise that your item has arrived and is awaiting pick up.

And the best news is that Hagen's rates are very, very reasonable. They also provide UPS and Fedex shipping services which are good for Canadians wanting to ship into the US without having to pay the rip-off prices out of Vancouver. Of course, you need to take the goods across the border, and that can be a stressful task at the best of times.

Good tip, thanks for sharing....

But I'd also like to share my experience.  I used to have most of my US purchase sent to Point Roberts, WA.  Where is just south of Tsawwassen, less than 20KM (20mins) from HWY-99 Tunnel.  Which is much closer to Vancouver/Richmond than Blaine, WA.  The parcel handling service I'm using is TSB Shipping Plus.  Information can be found on http://www.tsbshipping.com/

Wow  8) .... what a great information ... Thanks a lot for sharing this.  It is way easier and faster to get to Pt Roberts than going through the PEACE ARCH.

Good lord, NEVER, EVER, use TBS Shipping.  They are rude as hell, and they lose your packages.   I have heard nothing but complaints from Vancouver residents who have used TBS.   I tried them myself and they lost several of my packages.   When I tried to resolve things with them, they were very rude to me on the telephone and hung up on me.  Unbelievable!  People like this is what gives Americans a bad name.  The very few bad apples in the bunch!

I now use Hagens, and they are very polite and really do a great job!

Good luck.
