Just Back from Seattle
« on: December 31, 2007, 10:44:23 AM »
Went to Seattle with the family this past weekend, and here are the highlights:

* Went to Costco in Burlington.  Great place to buy wine.  Can bring 2 750ml bottles back duty free after 48 hrs.  Bought some other stuff at Costco and figure we can return it to Costco in Canada if we don't like it.  Some grocery items identical in Canada Costco (eg Mixed Nuts) were a few $$ cheaper in Costco US.

* Nordstrom Rack in Downtown Seattle - A messy way to shop, but found some great deals on shoes and dress shirts.

* Food - Had a good Mexican meal beside Todai in Pacific Place.  Also read in this forum that Todai is a great Seafood buffet.  It looked really good and was really busy.

* Seattle Center - Over Christmas there are many free performances here.  We saw a great acrobatics show there on Saturday evening and enjoyed the Science Center as well.  Used our Science World Memberships for reciprocal complimentary entry for all 5 of us.

* Seattle Sonics games - The Sonics are cellar dwellers right now.  The games are still pretty entertaining and tickets are super cheap and available.  Check out Craigslist Seattle for tix.  We had fun at a game, with very little out of pocket.
