I enjoy the Kashi brand of healthy cereal but don't like paying $5-6 a box for it here in Canada at Safeway or IGA. I have no idea why this product costs $5-6 here in Canada, so I don't buy it here in Canada.
Instead, the cheapest place to buy this product across the border in the US is at Target in Bellis Fair Mall in Bellingham. Most of the Kashi cereals are priced at $2.25 per box at Target.
It seems very unfair that Canadians are charged two to three times the cost for this product compared to what US consumers pay. Apparently there is a free-trade agreement in place between Canada and the US. I sure as heck see no evidence of this on most of the items I consume! If we had free trade there would be a rational explination as to why a box of cereal costs $6 in Canada and only $2 less than 30 miles from the Canadian border.
